“Satanische Vrede” is the debut lp of the Maldegem-based free psych collective Silvester Anfang. After loads of cdr and cassette releases – that show an evolution from drones to folk and psych - the band have found a sound that floats somewhere in between Davenport, German Oak and Träd, Gräs Och Stenar. Every track comes to life while playing and searching, and that’s exactly what you hear on the biggest part of this record. Small coincidences push the musicians in a certain direction, and because of this the outcome never sounds artificial or far-fetched. Most of the times Silvester Anfang is joined by self-declared non-musicians, which results in long sessions with a maximum of openness and freedom. A warm and organic sound and lo-fi recording quality have been priorities since day one. Some people see this as an attitude, other people blame it on the fact that they only have a 4-track and one recording mic. You can call it a crap addiction; the Silvester Anfang horde rather call it “post-satanic krautfolk”. [K050]

Bieten Sie auf eine originale Arbeit des jungen aufstrebenden Künstlers VALENTIN RUHRY. Mit Echtheitszertifikat, datiert und signiert.
Sie bieten auf einen Karton unbekannten Inhaltes und unbekannten Maßes. Dieser Karton wird dem Künstler Valentin Ruhry am Samstag dem 21. Oktober um 10:00 im Rahmen eines Kunst-Wettbewerbes in Wien ausgehändigt. Der mit verschiedenen Materialien gefüllte Karton steht dem Künstler für eine freie Arbeit zur Verfügung. Der Karton wird vom Künstler allerdings nicht geöffnet, sondern lediglich signiert und datiert.
Gemeinsam mit zwölf anderen österreichischen geladenen KünstlerInnen, die alle unter den selben Bedingungen antreten, muss Ruhry eine dreiköpfige Jury von der Qualität seiner Arbeit überzeugen. Die Jury besteht aus dem österreischischen Künstler Michael Kienzer und der Autorin, Kulturmanagerin und Kuratorin Doris Rothauer ("Kreativität & Kapital").

Die Jury wird von der Versteigerung des Kartons informiert und das Auktionsende ist zeitgleich mit der Bekanntgabe der Gewinner durch die Jury, am Dienstag 24. Oktober 2006, ca. 18:45.
Dem Käufer stehen, sollte das Projekt von der Jury für den 1. oder 2. Platz ausgewählt werden, 50% des Preisgeldes zu.
Der Ankaufspreis (Auktionspreis) ist in jedem Fall zu bezahlen.
Am selben Abend findet eine Vernissage zur Ausstellung, in der alle Arbeiten gezeigt werden statt. Die Ausstellung dauert bis zum 25. November 2006 und wird von Erwin Wurm und Gerald Bast eröffnet. Durch das Mitsteigern, erklärt sich der Käufer bereit, den Karton für den Zeitraum der Ausstellung den Ausstellungsmachern zur Verfügung zu stellen.

In einem permanenten Frage- und Antwortspiel was Skulptur ist und wie sie sich konstituiert, arbeitet Erwin Wurm seit über 25 Jahren an einem vielschichtigen Werk, das als durchgehendes Forschungsprojekt zum Skulpturenbegriff interpretiert werden kann. Für Wurm, der heute zu den erfolgreichsten Gegenwartskünstlern zählt, kann alles zur Skulptur werden: Handlungen, geschriebene oder gezeichnete Anweisungen oder selbst ein Gedanke. Seine Kunst handelt vielfach von elementaren wie banalen Lebensbedürfnissen und – abläufen, sowie von deren Perversionen, die in physischen Deformationen zum Ausdruck kommen können. Der Künstler thematisiert Schlankheitswahn und Fettsucht, Mode, Werbung und Konsumkult, zu dessen zentralen Fetischen das Eigenheim wie auch das Auto zählen. Die Ausstellung zeigt mit mehr als 400 Zeichnungen, Videos, Fotografien und Skulpturen die bisher umfangreichste Werkschau des Künstlers.
Seine jüngste aufsehenerregende Arbeit – das weithin sichtbare Objekt „House Attack“ ist an der Außenfassade des MUMOK installiert: Ein Einfamilienhaus als Symbol von Alltäglichkeit, Privatheit aber auch Kleingeistigkeit schlägt wie eine Bombe in die Fassade des Museums - des institutionalisierten Musentempels - ein. „House Attack“ ist in der visuellen Präsenz und seiner ambivalenten Metaphorik exemplarisch für die aktuelle Werkentwicklung des Künstlers, die einen Schwerpunkt der Ausstellung bildet.

If the origin of my work is a scandal, it is because, for me, the world is a scandal.
One of the most accomplished draughtsmen of the 20th century, Hans Bellmer was born in 1902 and worked in Berlin until 1938. He defied the Fascist state in which he lived by withdrawing from any socially useful activity developing a life-long project that became a powerful tool for social critique and a violent attack on stereotypes and the promotion of an idealised Aryan race.
In 1933, coinciding with the rise of Hitler and the Third Reich, Bellmer created his first doll – a life-size wooden and metal skeleton clad with plaster, which he repeatedly photographed in fragmented poses and haunting scenarios. He moved to Paris in 1938, where he immediately befriended the Surrealists including Paul Eluard, Yves Tanguy, Hans Arp and Max Ernst, sharing their fascination with childhood, play, psychoanalysis, Eros and death. These offered an opposition to a complacent, bourgeois, judgemental approach to the world.
Described as an anatomist, an engineer, even a geographer or cartographer of the body, until his death in 1975 Bellmer produced sculptures, photographs, books and etchings in addition to theoretical and poetic writings; and an outpouring of drawings in an obsessive quest for a monstrous dictionary dedicated to the ambivalence of the body. He pushed the boundaries of bodily representation, as Hieronymus Bosch and Giuseppe Arcimboldo had done earlier, to create an epic myth around the anatomy of the image. Bellmer’s numerous drawings developed from naturalistic portraits to images of tangled limbs that dissolve into near-biomorphic abstractions, fusing male and female forms to create ambiguous, fluid organisms. Hypnotic in its dazzling technique, Bellmer’s intricate depictions of often violent sexual fantasies calls into question the relation between individual pleasure and received ideas, indulgence and responsibility.
